PABLO PICASSO

Pablo Picasso, born in 1881 in Málaga, Spain, was a revolutionary artist whose innovations in painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, and drawing established him as one of the most influential figures in 20th-century art. Co-founder of the Cubist movement alongside Georges Braque, Picasso's work is characterized by a break from traditional perspectives, often fragmenting objects into geometric shapes and depicting them from multiple angles. Some of his most famous works include "Les Demoiselles d'Avignon" (1907), which challenged conventional artistic norms with its radical abstraction and portrayal of the female form; "Guernica" (1937), a powerful anti-war mural inspired by the bombing of the Basque town during the Spanish Civil War; and "The Weeping Woman" (1937), an emotive portrait that captures the anguish and suffering of war. Picasso's prolific career spanned over seven decades, during which he continuously evolved his style, leaving an indelible mark on the art world.
